PLANNING INSPECTORATE UPHOLDS FIVEWALK HOMES PLANNING APPEAL AT MILNTHORPE ROAD, MEADS, EASTBOURNE
August 2007
Fivewalk
Homes is celebrating after getting the green light to construct
four apartments on its Milnthorpe Road site in the desirable area of Meads.
Celebrations began after the Planning Inspectorate supported the developer’s
appeal against Eastbourne Borough Council’s planning committee’s
decision to refuse their proposal.
The planned building has been designed to complement neighbouring
properties with traditional architecture and style. The four proposed apartments
over four floors consist of two spacious two bedroom apartments and two three
bedroom apartments, with each unit having a designated car parking space.
Each apartment will be built to the highest specification and when completed
will provide the purchasers with modern day accommodation, within the fabric
of a traditional building.
The location of the site is within two minutes walk from Meads
High Street, which has a good selection of shops, public houses and restaurants,
while the seafront of King Edwards Parade is also just a short stroll away.
Andrew Mackelden, Managing Director of Fivewalk Homes, said: “This
planning appeal decision was a tremendous boost to the company, reconfirming
our planning expertise and awareness, in line with Government and Local Policy.”
The Eastbourne-based developer, Fivewalk Homes, specialises in new build, conversions and the refurbishment of existing buildings into premium residential developments, mainly in the South East. It was recently awarded the Evening Standard ‘Best New Small Development Award’ 2007 for its Sunnymead project, also in the Meads area of Eastbourne.
